My Mission.
“My mission is to tailor personal development products and services to the specific needs of men.” …
In the famous international bestseller, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus”, John Gray addresses himself the thorny question of the differences between men and women. Men, it seems, are less interested in feelings, and more interested in practical solutions, than women.
I have spent most of my working life in the therapy industry, and what has struck me most clearly is that it is predominantly a female dominated profession tailored to meet the needs of women. Despite their best efforts, female therapists often inappropriately use the same approaches that work well for women, on men. No wonder many men have a negative view of therapy.
What I aim to do is offer relevant opportunities to men on how to deal effectively with their problems, concerns and ambitions. My services range from long term psychotherapy, to short term counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy, to relationship counselling, life coaching, training and group weekends.
I understand that modern men need a flexible approach to helping, and I can offer meetings at my home, at your home or office, by telephone or even email.
Often men simply need a little help to solve their problems on their own, so I am also committed to offering quality information through my blog.
But what kinds of men seek my help? Well the overwhelming majority of the men I work with could be described as ‘successful’. That is they work in good, well paid jobs, and invariably (but not always) have been through the university system.
What strikes me about these men is that they know that they can’t do everything on their own, and they are not averse to seeking relevant help when they need it. For these men, I am a resource they can draw on to help build the life they want to achieve.
